Who is the Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Institute (SETI)?
The Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Institute™ is based in Boulder, Colorado, USA. It is a non-profit, educational and research organisation dedicated to the worldwide healing and prevention of trauma. SETI participates in outreach programs to under served populations and victims of violence, war and natural disasters. The institute provides professional training in Somatic Experiencing® worldwide and ensures a high level and consistency of training delivery via strict contractual obligations between local organisers and themselves.

Why is SE suitable for such a wide range of health professionals?
Somatic Experiencing has the benefit of being able to bridge a variety of mental and physical health disciplines because it has components of both. It can be used as a stand-alone technique or is easily integrated into other modalities. It is based on the body’s innate capacity to regulate itself and so is relevant for any modality which works with people and healing.

How do you determine the Tuition Fees?
We set the fees as low as is possible. However, the fees do reflect that we are flying in from Europe/USA not only the SE Trainers and a Senior Assistant but also at least four very experienced SE assistants for each module as per SETI guidelines, thus providing a quality, well supported training that benefits the participants on both the personal and professional levels. Another factor that affects the tuition fees is the FX rate between the AUD and the USD/EURO as the Trainers are paid in their ‘home’ currency. We have offered a good ‘Early Bird’ rate and flexible options of paying either by the module or for a full training year.

What if I enrol and then need to miss an entire training module?
A DVD option is available for those who want to attend the SE Professional Training but have difficulty fitting all the module dates into their schedule. The DVD option is also available if a participant misses one day within a module. More information about the DVD option can be found here.

What are the opportunities for further Advanced trainings?
You may go to the SETI website and look for Advanced Trainings, Workshops and Seminars. This is kept up to date and lists many worldwide training options. Also Somatic Experiencing Australia (SEA), through the local organiser, Kiara Projects, will be organising SE post graduate seminars and other events associated with trauma related issues.
