Trauma & Addiction Workshop - presented by Andre Jacomet
We are pleased to announce that Andre Jacomet  from Switzerland is coming to Australia in November this year to present his Trauma and Addiction workshop. Andre has been running the workshop in Europe these last few years and jumped at the opportunity to visit Australia. Registration is now open for this event that will be held in both Melbourne and Sydney.
Andre has worked in the field of addiction for many years. He references the Polyvagal Theory of Stephen W. Porges, the Triune Brain model of Paul D. MacLean and the Somatic Experiencing trauma healing modality of Dr. Peter A. Levine to give an enhanced explanation of addiction including the reason why specific drugs are chosen by the individual. He shows how to translate these complex theories into a practical map for a new orientation in the monitoring and treatment of people suffering with addiction and dependence.
Using video, movement and triadic experiential exercise Andre explores the often powerful rituals associated with addictive behaviors with suggestions on how to help develop effective alternatives.

Trauma Healing for Kids Workshop - presented by Maggie Kline
Maggie Kline's Trauma Healing for Kids workshop that was held in Melbourne earlier this year was a great success so we have two more scheduled for March 2014 - one in Byron Bay and another in Perth. We are currently taking expressions of interest for these workshops with registration opening soon.
Learn how to help children re-organise and re-balance their autonomic nervous system at the biological/survival level after being overwhelmed following a traumatic or stressful event.
Maggie will teach participants how to use games, play activities and art, integrated with the fundamentals and techniques of Somatic Experiencing, to facilitate the release and completion of thwarted survival responses, re-establish balance, orienting and protective/defensive impulses and to elicit the capacity for healthy social engagement.
This workshop is designed to teach you new skills while having fun !

**Please note that the Byron Bay workshop dates have changed to March 9th-12th 2014**
